Q&A
Tell us a bit about yourself

I have spent many years working as both an internal Talent Acquisition Manager and a Recruitment Consultant. I just love interacting with people and the variety it brings.

Growing up, my family moved around a lot which means I’ve lived in many countries and attended about 13 different schools. This gave me an amazing opportunity to experience different cultures and it’s really given me the bug to travel as much as I can.

Outside of work, I am very active. I love exercising and have recently gotten into weight training. But most of the time I’ll be out walking my beautiful dog Bear and running around after my two lively daughters!

What first attracted you to Allen Associates?

Allen Associates has been a positive influence throughout my career, firstly placing me in various fantastic roles as their candidate and then becoming one of their clients. What always shone through was their passion to help, and their lovely company culture which was something I really wanted to be a part of. As a team, our wellbeing  is paramount and this makes it a fabulous place to work. The fact there is usually a dog in the office makes it extra special!

Briefly describe your role and what you enjoy most

I have always enjoyed partnering with both hiring managers and candidates and building the trust and relationships needed to ensure a smooth and effective process. I love the challenge of finding the right person for the right role and then watching them flourish as their career develops.

The challenge and enjoyment comes from working closely with clients to support them on their journey in their search for the perfect candidate who will most enhance their team as well as working with candidates to find the role that best suits them.

I am naturally curious (in a good way!) so enjoy getting to know people as individuals which in turn creates a comfortable relationship and enables me to add even more value to their recruitment process.

What advice would you give to aspiring recruiters?

If you love talking and listening to people and being helpful, then recruitment is for you! It is hard to beat the feeling you get when you make someone’s day by offering them their dream role. Recruitment is fast paced and high energy, so if you love interacting with people and being busy then a role working in recruitment would really suit you.
