Join us in supporting Homeless Oxfordshire
We are delighted to support Homeless Oxfordshire as they work round the clock to provide vital services to the most vulnerable people in our county.
Any donations made to the charity between now and 29th November 2022 will be match-funded so we hope that as many of our Oxfordshire-based clients and associates will want to get involved.
Kate Allen, Managing Director at Allen Associates, said: “Homeless Oxfordshire do fantastic work in supporting vulnerable people and helping them to work their way out of homelessness and get to a place where they can start to take charge of their future. Their work is vital and humbling and we are delighted to be able to support such a wonderful cause and hope that others will want to do the same.”
The charity has seen a surge in demand for their services as the cost-of-living crisis starts to take its toll on an increasing number of people, leading to a sharp rise in homelessness.
Tim Thompson, Partnerships Executive at Homeless Oxfordshire, explained: “We are hugely grateful to Allen Associates for contributing to our welfare fund, which is integral to our clients’ wellbeing. It helps to pay for necessities that we all take for granted, such as underwear, socks, warm clothes and shoes. These items are not only functional but help to restore our clients’ dignity and sense of self-worth. Unfortunately, our fund is currently running very low because of a significant rise in demand for our services. This is of grave concern to us.
“We also provide a Severe Weather Emergency Protocol service, in conjunction with Oxford City Council. This provides a warm space, hot drinks, and shelter to street sleepers across the city during periods of cold – a true lifeline to many at this time of year – but it means our fund is even more stretched than ever.
“We hope that more organisations will come forward and help us through this especially challenging period.”
