About Statutory Sick Pay
- You are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in accordance with the provisions of Social Security and Housing Benefit Act 1982 if you are absent from work due to sickness or injury.
- From 6 April 2026:
- Statutory sick pay will be paid from the first day of sickness, rather than the fourth day
- The lower earnings limit will be removed – workers will not need to earn a minimum amount to be eligible
- The other eligibility criteria will remain the same. Workers must meet all the criteria to be entitled to statutory sick pay. For more information, please see https://www.gov.uk/statutory-sick-pay
Completing the statutory sick pay request form
If you are unable to work due to sickness, to claim SSP, temporary staff working via Allen Associates will need to follow the sickness reporting procedure.
- Please click the link below. You will be directed to a form; this form must be completed every day that you are off sick, ideally before you are due to start work that day.
- Please do not add any hours to your timesheet for any days that you are off sick.
- We may require you to supply a fit note if you have been off sick for more than 7 days.
