Catering & Conference Office Assistant Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Providing high-quality administrative support within the catering and conference services department, ensuring efficient operation of events and bookings.
  • Managing bookings and inquiries using conference management software, such as Accurate Solutions Conference Modules, and maintaining detailed records.
  • Corresponding professionally via email, phone, and in person with college members, external clients, and conference guests.
  • Assisting with setting up facilities and equipment for meetings, conferences, and events, both onsite and in designated spaces.
  • Supporting the coordination of accommodation services for visiting guests and event attendees.
  • Following strict guidelines on data protection, equality, and diversity policies while managing confidential information.
  • Demonstrating flexibility to work occasional additional hours during busy periods, such as the summer conference season.

Catering & Conference Office Assistant Rewards

  • Up to £28,319 per annum, equivalent to £15.56 per hour, depending on experience.

Catering & Conference Office Assistant Experience Essentials

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience in customer service and handling bookings, preferably within hospitality or conference settings.
  • Strong organisational skills with sharp attention to detail.
  • Previous experience using conference management or database software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with equality and diversity policies and procedures is desirable.

Location

Based on-site in a central area easily accessible by public transport; parking facilities are not available. Flexibility in working hours during peak periods is required, with well-organised transport links nearby.
